A Different Kind of Superstar

Sooooo … Kanye is, well, … let’s just say the President nailed it.  Michael Jordan showed insecure self-serving bitterness with his Hall of Fame speech.  Federer and Williams are dropping F-bombs on tennis courts.   Are all rich superstars superjerks?  Actually, no.   I had heard several times how classy and generous one particular baseball superstar is.  Get ready to be a big-time Albert Pujols fan.

He lay on his back in the dirt of the Pittsburgh ballpark. His neck hurt. Striking his face on the crushed rock along the first-base side felt like breaking through glass. He was bloodied. And the foul ball was gone. He had missed it, missed his one chance to grab a game ball for his son on the boy’s 21st birthday.

Tim Tepas, a retired schoolteacher, wanted only to climb over the short railing and sit back down next to his son. Disappear. Forget the whole thing. But the television cameras were on him. The stadium seemed to gasp in unison at his fall along the sidelines of that Pirates-Cardinals game in early August.

Don’t try to get up, sir.

Can you not put stuff on your blog like this. Makes me cry. So true though never thought of a bumblebee but what a great analogy. We have always pushed Caroline to do everything even things that we were told were not possible and God has always delivered even when we turned away from Him. Every child is a blessing but my Caroline is so much a blessing to me. I thank God everyday for my family and I am so grateful he picked me to be Caroline’s mom. It is an honor…..
