Sunday De-Brief
We learned a new term Sunday that I hope becomes common ROCK jargon: Coram Deo. It means “before the face of God.” It is the way we have signed up to live if we love God. All of life … ALL of it – not just the religious parts … is lived out before the constant gaze of God. Sunday’s simple truth was that we all choose which of three audiences we “dance” for: ourselves, crowd approval, or Jesus. Some notes:
- Worship team hit it out of the park. Band was tight. Vocals were great. And I’m pretty sure we’ll hear KLock sing Audience of One again.
- I loved being part of putting together the creative stuff for Sunday. JP did the heavy lifting (editing video, etc.), but I had fun picking through the elements we used.
- Little Evan Taylor Porter was precious. I’m a big advocate of doing baby dedication on Father’s Day. WE NEED MORE BABIES. Some of you slackers need to step up your game.
- ROCK-It Power was WAYYY down in attendance. No idea why. Sometimes big swings in attendance just happen in the summer.
- We literally stepped out of the back door RIGHT after church ended and started loading up to hop a place for Irvine, California. Flights were smooth and mostly prompt. Thanks to those of you who prayed for us.
- More tomorrow about our Cali experience. We’ll spend all day tomorrow with the consultant.

Kevin and Team – Hope you have a great time of vision-sharing with the creative team out there in Irvine!
