Weekend De-Brief
I can’t imagine a guy easier to listen to about money than Joe Sangl. His energy level is off-the-grid. I’m not sure I’ve ever heard biblical principles for personal financial management presented with more passion and creativity. I hope he has begun a crusade of stewardship among us. And he lived up to his “billing.” There was no high pressure, no hook, no hidden product to hawk. Some thoughts on the weekend:
- My “weekend” started rudely at 5am Saturday to go set up for a yard sale. Booooooo. But I enjoyed seeing some of you … and meeting some people too.
- I wish more people could have participated in Saturday’s Counselor Training. And I wish I hadn’t had to duck out of it early.
- I appreciate the investment of our Financial Learning Experience co-sponsors: Chris Huggins – CPA, The Horry Independent, and The Trestle Restaurant.
- Band sounded great. As usual they had it going on.
- Several areas seemed to be working with a skeleton crew today. I’ve gotta pimp up our volunteer coordination process. Some very hard-working super-faithful folks need some relief.
- Today has been a jolting realization of how much leadership responsibility falls on me.
- Please be patient with some assignment of responsibilities which are in transition. Some things have recently “fallen through the cracks,” and they have been my fault.
- Can I be honest with whoever reads this? I need you to pray for me. There are some areas of administration and leadership (in me) that aren’t up to par.
- This week will be the most pressure-packed, high-demand, how-the-heck-did-I-schedule-all-this week I can remember in a very long time.
- Thanks for praying.
