I heard a radio ad today featuring a pastor friend of mine.  He was pimping a coming series on the book of Revelation.  He’s a positive-sounding guy, and the ad was pretty good.  So much so that it riveted my attention to some signs of the coming apocalypse.  How can we know that the end is near?  Some indicators:

• ESPN tonight featured a “Top 10″ Soccer moments segment.   Really?  Biggest net in sports (& I use that term loosely here) and the lowest scores.
• David Ortiz (Big Poppi) was moved down to 6th in the Boston Red Sox line-up.  Give me a sec.  I need a moment to compose myself.  Sniffffff.  OK.
• The most liberal President in any of our lifetimes just nominated perhaps the most openly activist judge to the highest Court.  (Oops- was that too political?  Blame it on the pain-killers I took an hour ago)
• Jose Canseco fought a 7-foot tall Korean in an MMA bout.  Canseco lasted 76 seconds before tapping out.  He’s the same guy who had a homerun bounce off his head and over the fence.
• Ryan Bishop – who recently had a picture of his former 6′2 110-lb self shown on Facebook … in his marching band uniform – dared to question MY manhood in a FB thread.
• The “Missing Link” has been found! And it PROVES that we all descended from ape-like creatures.  And all that is certain because one less-than-2 ft tall-lemur-monkey thingy has opposable thumbs and a dude-like bone in its foot.  Wait, I thought this had already been “proven?”  Hmmm.  What?  The thing was found over 25 years ago?  Why the hype now?  Oh -the TV “documentary” airing this week needs to not lose money.  Got it.
• Jon and Kate Plus Who the Heck Cares “faced each other” on TV last night.  Their life has become soooooo difficult because they have soooooooo little privacy.    … Said the couple who signed up their family for constant filming on a reality TV show.
• The California Supreme Court upheld a ban on gay marriage. C-A-L-I-F-O-R-N-I-A.

That pretty much settles it.  We should see the Antichrist revealed, the clouds parting, and hear the trumpet sounding.  It’s over, folks.
