I might as well go ahead and say this:  I should wait ’til tomorrow to write this. I’m in an annoyed grouchy mood (Don’t ask).  I didn’t get my Sunday afternoon “recovery nap.”   And the stitches in my back hurt.   And – this will really SHOCK those who know me – I tend to be a little overly critical.   Some thoughts on Sunday morning at The ROCK:

• I was pleasantly surprised that the early worship gathering was pretty well-attended on a “holiday weekend.”
• Glitches still drive me C-R-A-Z-Y.   Even small ones.  Even ones almost nobody else notices.  I blame every single one of them on me.  Everything that isn’t done as well as it could be done points back at the leader.  Period.
• We need an explosion of volunteers. The ones we have are awesome.  They are our MVP’s.  But they need some subs and back-ups.   We need more greeters, ushers, coffee bar-tenders, kid-ministry teachers and assistants, technicians, setter-uppers and tearer downers, lobby hosts and kidz stuff handlers.   Everybody who calls The ROCK their spiritual community should have a ROCK job.  No exceptions.
• Talked to a church planter friend after church.   He and their worship leader were checking out how we roll.  Good dude.  He really likes what we’re doing.  That’s how I know he’s a good dude.  
• I was CERTAIN that our attendance was up from last week, but the counters said it was down.  That accelerated by bad mood.
• Message was average.  Maybe below average.  I prepared hard, and I meant every word.   But …. blah.
• No matter what else failed to meet my expectations, Dwight K. Schrute rocked.  He always does.
• A friend(& one of the sweetest people I know) suffered a miscarriage this week.  And she was there today volunteering.  And trusting God to minister to her.  That affected me.
• The last 5 minutes of Con Air represent the closest I can get to enjoying a chick-flick.  Just sayin.
• I have a couple of friends who are about to take mission trips.  Is God speaking to you about helping to finance the mission?   Call or email me (or leave a comment).
• Want to house a couple of college guys who are working here for the summer?  Let me know (unless you’re a college GIRL).
