The Sodom-ization of America
A few blogs ago, I mentioned the courage of Carrie Prejean, Miss California. When asked her personal o
pinion of legalizing gay marriage, she dared to say that heterosexual marriage was the norm. And the secular media has tried to destroy her ever since. We are living in a day wherein the “thought police” are reaching further into our freedoms to require everyone to toe the line: THEIR line.
A couple of caveats: I am no hater. I am not on an anti-gay crusade and neither is our church. As I publicly said Sunday morning: Tell all your gay friends that I would be delighted for them to regularly attend our church. They will get offended from time to time, but so does everybody. I am an equal opportunity ticker-offer. The issue below is not gay marriage, or orientation, or hate-speech (whatever the heck that is); The issue is the right of an individual to express his or her own personal beliefs.
Let me introduce you to a courageous young black woman named Julea Ward, a former graduate student in the Eastern Michigan University Counseling program. “Former” because she has been dismissed for not affirming that homosexual behavior is morally acceptable. Keep in mind that Miss Ward did not organize a protest or a movement. Nor did she berate or seek to “convert” a homosexual client. She simply – on advice of a supervisor – referred a gay client to a different counselor. Miss Ward has NEVER addressed the issue of homosexuality with a client. But she refused to affirm that it is morally acceptable. And when the school began disciplinary proceedings, she would not retract her personal beliefs.
That is the world we now live in, folks. Call it the Sodom-ization of America. And my guess is that it is only going to get worse. It may get more difficult to be an outspoken Christian in our country, and that is not an altogether bad thing. The darker it gets, the brighter a real light shines.

Ironically though, if Trump’’s organization did better vetting for the Miss USA pagent, we”d never hear of Carrie. A few skeletons in her closet, but that’’s okay in my book. I think most of us have some things back there we”d like to just remain there, covered in cobwebs and dust.
Of course, Trump doesn”t really care for the rules his organization has, or she would have lost her Miss California crown over those “skeletons.” But it’’s getting huge publicity, which = money for Trump.
It’’s interesting that Christians get a bad wrap for “forcing” their beliefs on others – when it seems like the secular are more apt to do so to everyone else.
The whole homosexual issue has evolved too much, in that, it’’s not good enough to tolerate, but you have to also agree with it now too or you”re blacklisted and labeled a hater.
The times we live in are the reason Miss Ca received the treatment she received. Her bad(or questionable) behavior played it’’s part as well.
It has nothing to do with gay rights activists or secular progressives or liberals or whatever.
Talk about labeling.
If you want to blame someone, blame the media or the internet.
As far as Ward is concerned, there could have been a number of factors that contributed to her dismissal. What about the school’’s policy? I need more details before I can chime in on that.
OK, she made some bad decisions to get to where she was when the question was asked. None of those bad decisions had anything to do with her taking an unpopular stand when the time called for it. Not one of us can stand and be proud of everything we have done in the past, but there has to be a turning point, a time in which each of us takes that stand. For Carrie, her’’s was on National TV and she has now become the dart board for every liberal in the world who wants to take shots at her. Doesn”t diminish the message. I believe it was my man Peter….you know, THE ROCK, that denied Christ three times and turned everything around, then gave his life. No one wants to investigate him and find all of those little bad things he did to discredit him. We as Christians sure know how to turn our backs on somebody at times, don”t we? Celebrate the stand and pray that she has asked for forgiveness. I have pasted something below…… Don”t you think it is about time??!!? We have known for thousands of years!!
