Tiger Woods’ Poor Driving

The one-liners are pouring in after Tiger Woods’ “traffic accident.”

Well, Tiger’s driving has always been erratic.

Tiger Woods is so rich that he owns lots of expensive cars. Now he has a hole in one.

What’s the difference between a car and a golf ball?  Tiger can drive a ball 400 yards.

The gossip hounds and scandal-rags are frothing at the mouth to tell the “real story” about how Tiger Woods backed out of his own driveway in them middle of the night, hit a hydrant, then a tree in a neighbor’s yard.  And then his wife broke out the back glass … with a golf club.  (Just a thought:  Why not try her key to the car?)  You can’t make this stuff up.  Well, actually, Tiger seems to be making up crazy explanations about the whole thing.

Here’s what the rest of us can take away from this mess:  Rich and famous people are … people. They are sinners in need of God’s grace JUST like the rest of us.   Just like the rest of us, their lives are empty and adrift unless they know Jesus.   No amount of money, or magazine cover photos, or championships, or endorsement deals, or name recognition, or invites to the White House, or anything else fills the spiritual void within any of us.  Only Jesus can do that.

Here’s an interview with the winner of multiple Super Bowls.  He’s rich, famous, handsome, mega-talented.  Surely all of that can anesthetize the inner need for God, right?  Solomon said all that stuff is as spiritually satisfying as eating a bowlful of air.  Here’s what Tom says …

Soooo … What’s in YOUR heart?

  1. Could not have been said any better… I have always prayed that Tiger would come to know Jesus. His influence is so huge and could make such a difference.
