Where’s the Church? (Part II)
I was part of an interesting teleconference call today. Part of it interested me JUST because of the technology stuff. Our Elders – Dirk Derrick, Chuck Jordan, and I – sat in Dirk’s office. We talked with a consultant in Atlanta from Visioneering Studios AND his colleague sitting in a different time zone in California. And both of those guys presented stuff from their desks on DIRK’s computer screen. Call me techno-slacker, but I was amazed.
I anticipate having some kind of official announcement prepared by the first Sunday in December. Appropriately enough, that Sunday kicks off a new teaching series titled: DOing It. And we’ll be ready to announce what we’re going to do. Or not do yet. PLEASE PRAY US THROUGH THIS PROCESS!
Here’s the core gut-level question we’re going to have to answer: How big is our dream? Honestly, that’s it. I’m not just talking about bucks, bricks, and bodies. Is it time to play it safe? Or is it time to “go for it?” We have some decisions to make about that. Our Elders will be talking again next week. We’ll be back in touch with the guys who are helping us. In my opinion, they are the best in the country.
