I needed a great Sunday.  Ever been there?  I needed a battery-charging, throw- down, vibrant time of worship with no glitches and no drama.   As always, God came through.  Relationship series messages are always dicey.   There’s always unexpected laughter, and unanticipated moments of silence, and an occasional grunt when a husband takes an elbow to the ribcage.  Some thoughts on today at The ROCK:

• Relationship series stuff at The ROCK is always (at least) PG-13.   Hope nobody was unnecessarily offended.  We aren’t trying to be provocative for the heck of it.  We’re trying to speak in real terms to real issues.
• Band was awesome … kinda pieced together in some places, but awesome nonetheless.
• Attendance was UP, and one reason was a noticeable increase in KidZRock.
• I still love seeing some college peeps come in and worship.
• I saw a twitter post today with a pic of people tearing down a stage.  And the caption was, “The Real Heroes of Portable Church.”  Yep.  Absolutely YEP.
• Yes, I said that sometimes the most righteous thing a young man can do is pop the bully in the mouth.  And I stand by that statement.
• I counted about 20 1st-time guest cards.  And almost all of them said they had no church affiliation.  I LOVE THAT JUNK!!!
• Among reasons they gave for attending:  ROCK Van, signs, friends, friends, friends, a 9th-grader inviting them, yellow pages.
• Great comments from several people.
• Saw some life-change today.  Prayed with some folks.  Talked with some who are going to make an all-out effort to rescue their marriage.
• Thank you, Lord.
• Next Sunday:  The Naked Truth about Women.
• (As if I know anything at all about women)
