I believe the knowledge of God is hard-wired into our “spiritual DNA”. We are not born atheist only to be surprised later that there is a God. We are made in the image of God, innately aware of His existence, and learning of His goodness and greatness resonates with our soul. That is why divine themes, messianic images, and even the gospel itself often show up in popular culture. It is inescapable.

I also believe Rock ‘n Roll is dead. Or at least gasping labored breaths on life-support. Raging against the machine and rebelling against “the man” has been replaced by vulgar gangsta rapping and pitch-correcting to mask vocal inferiority. Just my humble, but correct, opinion.

With those things in mind, I bring you a simple and random Monday blog thought: Jesus IS the Classic Rock.

• He is the answer for those who Can’t get no Satisfaction.
• He is the reason we cannot Imagine an existence without religion or Heaven.
• The salvation He provides is More than a Feeling.
• He is the only one to obey when He invites you to Walk this Way.
• He is the Rising Son.
• He is the Son of Proud (& humble) Mary, the One who Lights my Fire, the source of my R-E-S-P-E-C-T, the Champion who Really Got Me.
• He is the one and only Stairway to Heaven.
