Praying Head to Toe
Your prayer time ever get, um, (what’s a word that doesn’t sound TOO unspiritual here …) stale? Monotonous? Ever lose your train of thought? Feel like you’re saying the same thing you did yesterday … and the day before that? It’s OK. Happens to everybody else.
There are lots of ways to pump new moxie into your prayer life. HERE’s a previous blog if you want some other insights about sprucing up your knee-mail. But have you ever considered praying “head-to-toe?” I’ve got you covered today, literally. So here goes:
Thank you, Heavenly Father, that you know the very number of hairs on my head. (Matt. 10:30)
Today, Lord, I submit my mind to you. I will only think about things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, anything excellent or praiseworthy. (Phil. 4:8)
Turn away my eyes from looking at worthless things, And revive me in Your way. (Psalm 119:37)
No unwholesome talk will come out of my mouth, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. (Ephesians 4:29)
Lord, I will hold fast to you and serve you with all my heart and with all your soul.” (Joshua 22:5)
I will not be enraptured by an immoral woman, and be embraced in the arms of a seductress? (Proverbs 5:20)
I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands. (Psalm 63:4)
Uphold my steps in Your paths, That my footsteps may not slip. (Psalm 17:5)
In view of Your mercy, I will offer my whole body as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to You—this is my true and proper worship. (Romans 12:1)
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
