Soooooo glad to be back with my own church family at The ROCK.

• Loved the music. Two ROCK-style hymns today. We do that to please the elderly ladies in our congregation … like April Gibson. Please tell her I said that. Muhaha.
• You saw more new stuff today.  New light truss (Is that what you call it?) array. More new signage. Jerimiah has done a great job keeping us upgraded.
• “Good enough” will never be good enough. That’s why we keep upgrading.
• There were 20 or so blow-up Earths all over the platform. It wasn’t to commemorate “Earth Day.” Not that there’s anything wrong with that. We wanted a visual to remind us how flimsy and fragile and temporary this world really is.
• Usually, to commemorate Earth Day, I go throw a car battery in the ocean. To each his own.
• LOTS of new faces in KidzRock. They were slammed.
• Also saw some new volunteers here and there. Humanly speaking, mobilizing more new volunteers is on the short list of secrets to a great future. You in the game?
• We showed a trio of clips from popular films where characters referenced another dimension. I believe one main reason Hollywood is enamored with “OtherWorld” is because our spiritual DNA demands it.
• A mom told me her kid said she NEVER wants to go to ANY other church. New marketing jingle is “The ROCK: Where the band is awesome, the preaching is average, and your kids won’t let you go anywhere else.”
• I love any Sunday that gives me a chance to brag on our volunteers in the middle of the message. Every act of service done for Jesus lasts forever.
• Speaking of the message: Most of everything Jesus said makes NO SENSE … if this world is all there is. NO SENSE unless there is an OtherWorld. Jesus CANNOT merely be a great teacher if he claimed to be the only way to God. AND claimed to BE God. Jesus is either liar, lunatic or Lord. If Jesus is Who He said He was, how then will you live?  How will you treat others, handle problems, give and serve?
• Every ROCKer, just one Sunday, needs to stick around after the 2nd worship. It’s humbling to see how many servants are there afterward to tear down everything.
• I had the opportunity to hear from a guy today who is now sober, wants to be baptized, and is excited about being part of what God is doing at The ROCK. Other than hearing about a new salvation, THAT kind of conversation jacks me up more than anything.
• One first-time guest said he wants to join RIGHT NOW.
• We’re having twice as many first-time guests as we were a year ago.
• People are driving crazy distances to worship at The ROCK.
• Cardboard Testimony is two weeks away (5/6). What are you going to put on each side of YOUR piece of cardboard?
• Baby dedication is on Mother’s Day (5/13).
• Starting Point is the following Sunday (5/20).
• Hot-tub Baptism is coming.
• It is an exciting time to be part of The ROCK!
